Who We Are
The Chamber was believed to have been founded in the early 1970s, is one of the largest in North Dorset and currently has about 100 members. It has become a key player in the redevelopment of the town’s commercial and industrial base and supports the British Chamber of Commerce’s approach to town centre development.
Gillingham is one of the fastest growing towns in Dorset and is ideally located as a base to explore the many attractions of Dorset, Wiltshire and Somerset.
We encourage you to take the time to explore our town via the pages on this new site launched in November 2010. We are sure you will not be disappointed with the wide range of services and goods the town can offer.
In addition to this website the Chamber publishes a local directory of members, local services and organisations. We encourage all organisations to subscribe to the directory and website in order to promote local business and community interaction.
The AGM is normally held in May and we encourage members to attend to promote ideas and suggestions.
Local and National Government consult Chambers on almost every aspect of town life which can only be to the advantage of the town. We have also represented the town at a number of meetings and seminars concerned with development and help for businesses in the area.
